I hope you guys & girls are not tired of hearing about Design Essentials because today’s post is just that! This past weekend Design Essentials held another event at Twincare Intentional in Sunninghill, called Curls & Conversations. They happened to partner up with Candi & Co which made the event a lot more exciting, definitely a step up from the last one. Candi & Co is a hair and nail salon, which specializes in ethnic hair but if you would like to know more about them, visit their site here for more information. I did not know what to expect from the event, other than a great hair talk but like I mentioned it was more than just that. We got treated to manis, great food & drinks and of course great company. We also had the honour of having the talk by natural hair gurus, Deshonica Kerrie & Alicia Bailey who came all the way from the United States. To top that off, we had the opportunity of meeting the man behind Design Essentials, Mr Cornell Jr Mcbride. So the day turned out way better than expected.
Just a little advice from my side regarding this post. If you are thinking of going natural or in your transition, I suggest you get yourself to the next event. See Design Essentials South Africa Facebook page to keep you informed of the next. It’s really great to hear what other naturals have to say and the journey they have been through. Apart from meeting all these amazing natural ladies, the talk itself is really informative, so definitely worth every cent spent.
These are just a few of the pictures captured on day.
My sister and I making our way inside. I can’t tell you how blessed I am to have my sister attend all these events with me and for being my number one inspiration of going the natural root, thanks Les.
‘Natural girls have more fun.’
Getting my nails done by Candi & Co staff, thank you ladies for a superb job.
Deshonica and Alicia working their magic.
Was lovely meeting Sarah Langa, who is the brand ambassador for Stylista. She built up the courage to do the big chop and to go natural.
I met Nicola who is the founder & owner of Naturally Me Organic. I will be doing a review of her hair product soon, but in the mean time you may visit her page for more details here.
