My One-On-One with Nicola Moon

I’m sure most of you have been wondering about the African Black Castor Oil product, which has been roaming all over social media lately? Well, wonder no more because I got to hang out with Nicola Moon, founder and owner of African Black Castor Oil.

I met Nicola at the Design Essentials hair workshop and immediately felt a connection with her and her brand. As a natural hair blogger, I really wanted to get to the root of Nicolas brand and just get to know her more. I had then set up an interview with her last week and really picked her brain about her product. Just so you know we haven’t had sit down before but it was as though we were friends for a long time and literally spoke our faces off (in Nathans words) lol.

I have been using her product for about 2 months now and have already noticed a difference in my hair (thick and healthy).

Here are some of the questions I had asked her:

  1. Tell me a little about yourself?

I am Nicola Moon, born and raised in the beautiful country of South Africa. I’m someone who is modest, hardworking and honest. I constantly set firm goals for myself, my pursuit for growth and learning are my driving forces. I’m a fanatical hair enthusiast and always committed to my dreams.

  1. What inspired you to start your own business?

My inspiration sprung about when I saw first-hand that there were only benefits of using 100% natural plant based products. I wanted to help myself and others.

  1. Why African Black Castor oil?

Having tried numerous other natural products, either buying or making them myself, the African Black Castor Oil works the best. The benefits are so overwhelming. I’d use to have to use different types of oils, now I just use the African Black Castor Oil and it does the job of all.

  1. How would you describe the product?

African Black Castor Oil is a very rich based oil. The oil is light brown in colour, and had a very distinct roasted aroma. The nozzle applicator on the bottle makes it easy to apply the oil directly to the scalp.

  1. How often would one have to apply the product to see results?

We recommend the oil to be applied and massaged onto scalp daily. The oil is most effective when hair is kept regularly washed. The oil is not effective in dirty, unwashed hair, as that just creates product build up. The oil can be used on eyelashes, eyebrows and even beards.

  1. There is a lot of castor oil products on the market, what makes your product so special & why?

We extract our oil in a completely different style to other manufacturers. We use only the finest African Castor Seeds that is what also makes us unique. No one on the market manufactures African Black Castor Oil.

  1. What has been the best testimony you have received from a client?

Every single testimonial I get from my clients overwhelm me with joy. My clients tell me on a daily basis, how the oil has made them feel more beautiful, and confident. How much the oil has really changed their lives for the better!

  1. Are there any downsides to the product?

It’s a 100% natural plant based oil; there are only benefits of using natural plant based ingredient products. No harmful chemicals exist in the oil.

  1. What would be the process of making the castor oil?

Using methods which date back centuries, the oil harvested from the seeds is extracted the traditional African way, our age old secret.

  1. What advice would you give the ladies or gents about your product and being natural?

On being a natural, my advice would just to be patient, enjoy the journey; you will discover so many interesting things along the journey. Our product is not only for naturals, it’s a product that is 100 % natural plant based. So it’s safe to use on kids. We have clients that use the oil on relaxed, natural hair, from all race groups, men and woman.

  1. How can people get hold of the product?

On our social media pages:
