I can’t believe I’m finally 30! An age that seemed so far away, when you still in your 20’s and then in a blink of an eye it’s there, staring you in the face (gosh, I sound so dramatic but it’s true) ha-ha.
I celebrated my 30th birthday last week Wednesday and for some reason there was not much excitement. For those that know me, I’m planning months in advance, with a marathon and a countdown but this time it was different. It could have been the number ‘30’ that had me out of my celebration state. None the less, I just had to go with the flow and accept the next chapter of my journey. So the day before it really got me thinking about the past few years and how far I have come but that number 30 still managed to freak me out lol. I guess the whole age thing comes into play when you start comparing yourself to women your age (family or friends), and that’s a huge thing in today’s society. I questioned the fact that I wasn’t married or that I didn’t have a baby yet (sounds crazy but it’s the truth)! I then had to do some serious evaluation on myself and really see what I have achieved in these past few years and boi am I grateful. I got to travel, start a blog, buy property and really just experience what most 30 year old’s haven’t yet, so I am HAPPY and CONTENT.
The day of my birthday I was extremely emotional but not because I was turning a year older, but merely because it is only by the Grace of God that I am here today. We often take life for granted and always expecting a return in monetary value, yet we forget that we are alive and healthy. So I just want to thank my Heavenly Father for sparing me with another year and the many more years to come.
I received a lot of advice but the one that stood out the most for me, was that when enter into your 30’s, you are more sure of who you are and that people’s opinions don’t matter anymore. I am definitely excited about that, because we all know in our 20’s we still wondering if our hair looks great or if we have on the right clothes. Girl rock you and be proud!!!
I would like to thank everyone that celebrated the day with me ♥
