Bouban Travels

Hey Guys & Girls! So I am sure you noticed a name change, don’t be alarmed its still me, I just needed an upgrade but will share more about that in my next post. Oops, I almost forgot to wish you guys a HAPPY NEW YEAR, seen that this is my first post for the year. May this year be fruitful and prosperous!!!

Today’s post is not your ordinary, in fact one of the best shoots I have done with photographer Gabrielle Mixon. I know I say that every time we shoot, however it’s not everyday that you get to wear some items from a  local South African designer.

BOUBAN CLOTHING is what I’m wearing in this post!

About Bouban Clothing

Bouban was born in the small town of Stonetown in Zanzibar and is a confluence of both Eastern Swahili and Arabic styled fashion and accessories. Made from high quality Tanzanian materials, Bouban is produced and created in South Africa by Jessie Nossel and her team of dynamic and talented artisans.

With Gabrielle working closely with local designer Jesse Nossel, I was approached by Gabrielle to model these exquisite pieces for the brand, of which I did not hesitate and said yes in an instant. I had a few items to choose from and selected about 3 pieces from the Bouban range and one from Malume clothing. Because these pieces are so versatile and extremely comfortable, we wanted to create a scene where Bouban could be worn just about anywhere. We chose 3 of my top locations in Johannesburg, starting from the inner city, Maboneng Precinct, moving all the way to 44 Stanley in Milpark and ending off in Melville.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel is where we started off and boi was I excited because it’s become my favourite place to be. A must see when you in the city, offering everything from a restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and even a quaint tea place. I love how fresh this side of the precinct is, totally different from the arts on main vibe that we so used to.

My Look

I went for this rustic burnt orange dungaree, which is no surprise for those that know I am obsessed with dungarees and a must have in every closet. Let’s talk about comfort; it basically felt as though I didn’t even have a dungaree on, that’s how lightweight it is and extremely breathable. You can travel in style with this dungaree, because not only does it feel good, but look great too. I kept my look very simple, pairing it with this stripe crop top from Zara and my favourite Stan Smith sneakers.
